Volunteer Code of Conduct
Harvey Community Network strives for honesty, integrity, and excellence in all it partakes in. Given this, we ask that volunteers conduct themselves in a way that upholds these principles and as detailed below:
Respectful Conduct
- Volunteers must treat all patrons and fellow volunteers with respect while acting as a volunteer of the organization in any capacity. Harassment, discrimination or other behaviours that compromise the dignity and self-worth of others cannot be tolerated, and will be addressed promptly.
Personal Gains
- Volunteers must not use their association with the organization to obtain personal gain from those doing or seeking to do business with the organization.
- Additionally, volunteers should neither seek nor accept gifts, payments, services, fees, etc. from those associated with the organization.
Conflict of Interest
- Volunteers must avoid all situations in which their personal interests conflict or might conflict with duties to the organization. If conflict of interest arises, it should be reported at first opportunity to the organization.
Confidentiality
- At all times, the privacy and dignity of donors, volunteers and staff will be respected. Volunteers may have access to information and documents relating to donors and/or volunteers that are private and confidential in nature; reasonable care and caution will be exercised to protect and maintain total confidentiality.
